Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year and the Grade 2/3 blog!
I hope you had a great summer, packed with many exciting adventures and memories. I’m delighted to teach a grade 2/3 combined class this school year.
The blog will be a valuable tool for students and their families. It also has a variety of purposes such as communicating information about what is happening in the classroom, posting reminders, making suggestions or providing details about upcoming events. It will be updated often so please check back regularly.
September is a busy month in which students become familiar with our classroom and reacquainted with the school.
Students will have the opportunity to accomplish the following:
-meet new friends and get reacquainted with previous classmates
-adjust to being back in school for a full day every day
-discover the classroom and the tools for learning
-revisit and follow school and playground routines
-establish classroom routines, expectations and essential agreements that will help develop good work habits.
Students enter grades 2 and 3 with a wide-range of abilities and they learn at different rates. Although I may have different expectations for my students and the work they do in class, I will always expect all students to do their best!!
Our classroom expectations in Grade 2 and 3 will focus on being a good citizen in the classroom, school, and community. Over the first few weeks, our classroom community will spend some time developing these expectations together so we can all have a successful school year.
I am looking forward to seeing all my students soon for a fun-filled year of learning and exploration! Let the adventure begin!
